Career:
Mr. Simantiras was first admitted to the Paris Bar in 1977. He began his career as a junior associate in Guillot de Suduirant et Associes. Upon his admission to the Athens Bar in 1981 he joined the family-run law firm as an associate and a few years later, he became a partner. In 1991 he was appointed General Secretary (Deputy Minister) of the Ministry of Justice and in 1993 Chief Executive Officer of Olympic Airways S.A.(Greece’s National Flag air carrier) and Olympic Catering S.A.

Within the Firm his new practice now consists of providing legal counsel to both Greek and multinational companies on various corporate and commercial matters. He also serves as their legal advisor. He has been involved in transactions concerning the merger of major Greek corporations, the restructuring of Greece's national flag carrier, Olympic Airways, the take over of two French regional carriers (Aeris Express and Air Toulouse), the fulfilment of conditions in order to obtain full licensing in the telecommunications industry for the operation of a telecommunications network and telecommunications services , the takeover of a investment and financial institution by a major European Bank.

He is a member of various associations and boards, amongst which include the Athens Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the Board of Directors of the European Lawyers' Union (Area of Greece).

Mr. Simantiras has published several articles in international legal journals and magazines across a range of legal issues.
